Evolution of a selfie

I’ve been organizing my office space lately in preparation for school (it starts Monday!!). In the process, I was cleaning up old computers and consolidating everything onto one external hard drive. I stumbled upon a treasure trove of photographs on an old computer that I had completely forgotten about!!

This particular group of photographs was all from late high school to my first year in Denver. Meaning it’s a wealth of “before” photos as this was during my heaviest period. Don’t be surprised if I update my Before & After page in the near future (it needs a good updating, too).

I thought I’d post a picture combo that I put on instagram today titled “Evolution of a Selfie.”

Same pose. Same glasses. Same lack of any hair styling ability. 5 years and somehow a lifetime of difference.

I’m still the same person and yet I am completely changed. I can’t even begin to tell you how much better and happier I feel on a daily basis now. It’s not just about weighing less, either. It’s about finally becoming the person I wanted to be.

Whoever you are, wherever you are in your life, I hope that you have the courage and drive to become the person you want to be. You deserve it more than you could know.
